  • DAVID SMITH ROCKS NBT'S
    added 2017/09/01 13:09:40
In February, David Smith wrote the NBT (National Benchmarking Test), shortly after which we were advised that his scores were in the top 1% in South Africa. A short while later, David got his IEBT Maths mark. To put it in perspective, only 100 students in the whole country got over 80%. It is normal for learners to drop in the region of 20% compared to their normal mark - the tests are considered tough! David achieved 90%. On 29 July, David took the NBT test again - as is required by Universities on application. David rocked Maths again, achieving a score of 93%. We are so proud of you David, well done! Thank you to Mr David Venter for all the extra hours he has invested in students like David with their extra subject AP Maths. See High School Gallery.

3.Iron and apply firm pressure evenly on the patch for approx 30-40sec.

5.When washing, turn your garment inside out and use a gentle wash cycle

  • 2017 SECOND HAND TEXT BOOKS
    added 2017/01/09 09:03:15
We have had an enormous demand for 2nd hand textbooks for 2017. The surrounding stockists have a back log of orders. We especially made a calculated decision not to go with a preferred supplier this year because last year and previous years have been nothing short of disasters - not only from a supplier point of view, but also from parents cancelling, duplicating and submitting late orders. All discrepancies ultimately fell on the school to administer and this became a nightmare. We are appealing to you please to bring in your child's textbooks from last year as a MATTER OF URGENCY this week in order for us to supply those in need. We pay R25 per textbook in demand and in good condition and we sell for R50. Please and thank you.

    added 2016/08/25 12:40:41
It is with concern that we raise the issue of absenteeism from school. Apart from missing a lot of work that is being covered in the classroom, learners miss many class based assessments which make up their term marks for the end of term. This puts the learner at risk of not progressing at the end of the year.
Please note that once 20 days absent has occurred in one calendar year, the school is within their rights to retain the child in the current year for the next year.

  • SPORTS PRACTICES
    added 2015/05/26 12:17:50
Many of the complaints regarding younger learners having to wait for older learners to come out of class to attend practices have been dealt with directly with relevant parents. This note serves to re-affirm you that although all measures have been taken for this not to happen - due to the small classes and available players,it has been necessary to combine 2 or 3 age groups into one team. This obviously has an effect on the younger players who have to wait a short time for the older players to come out of class before they can start practice. As the school grows,we hope that this unfortunate scenario will be eradicated - in the meantime,we thank you for your patience in this regard.

    added 2015/05/18 15:34:29
We appeal to you as parents to please stay away from the school buildings up until the time the bell rings for your child/ren to come out of class. It is a huge distraction for the children in class when they spot their parents outside and it interferes with the teacher's teaching time. This is not the first time we have had to make this request. Please be advised that if this continues, Mr Kingma will have no other option but to approach you and ask you to leave the property. Also please note that your child's progress/behaviour will only be discussed with his/her teacher at an appointed time, not before or after school. Primary School parents can contact Mrs Sutherland and High School parents can contact Mrs Thompson to make relevant appointments.

  • UNHEALTHY LUNCHES AT SCHOOL
    added 2015/02/26 16:10:49
Please be very careful as to what you pack in your child's lunch box for break times. It has been noted that from time to time, the sandwiches and decent part of the lunch ends up in the dustbin and the children enjoy the sweets and other types of junk. This is very bad for a child's body and mind.Particularly as some of them do not have a decent breakfast before coming to school. Here is an idea:for those of you who do have healthier lunchbox ideas, why not email them to marketing@hhps.co.za during the month of March and at the end of March, we will attach a booklet to the Resource tab including some affordable, convenient and healthy ideas for your child's lunchbox. In the meantime, why not make Friday a treat day,and try to cut out the extra sugary stuff during the week.
